Saying he has received from Mr. Harrison and from both the Richmonds letters about the death of Mr. Prout. He has not yet heard his son's reaction, but Ruskin knew that last summer Prout was dangerously ill. His favorable impressions of Edmund Oldfield. Charles Newton will not be bored with the account of Mediterranean pilots. They are getting downstairs books which have not seen the light for years. If Mr. Harrison has a catalogue of lost books, he should send it here. Mr. Harrison's Miscellany never would have been discovered had they not been searching for John's Shakespeare. Thanks for review from Guardian--a good impartial notice. They dislike sugared reviews as well as critiques by pique. His son and wife are very gay, going to another ball in Verona. He is glad that they had neither music or dancing on the night of Prout's death.
